It was announced today by Atlanta Hawks President of Basketball Operations and General Manager that the Hawks have hired Wes Wilcox as the Assistant General Manager.  Wilcox first started his career in the NBA front office with the Miami Heat in 2001, where he was an intern in their scouting/video department.  He then spent time as the New Orleans Hornets' video coordinator for the 2002-03 NBA season.  He most recently was the Director of Player Personnel for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Since joining the Cavaliers in 2003, he also has served as the advance scout, college scout, and pro personnel scout.  His GM experience came last year with Cleveland, where he served as General Manager of the Cavaliers' NBA Development League team, the Canton Charge.  I think this was a good move by the Hawks.  Danny Ferry and Wes Wilcox worked together for five years in Cleveland.  They have good chemistry, and it should help to orchestrate moves quickly within the front office.  I look forward to having Wilcox working with the Hawks, and I wish him luck in his future in Atlanta.
