The Atlanta Hawks will take on the New York Knicks tonight on the road.  This will be the first of three meetings between the Hawks and Knicks this season.  This will also be the second of three-straight games against Atlantic Division opponents for the Hawks.  With a win tonight, the Hawks would improve to 26-18 on the season and 1-0 in the regular season series with the Knicks.  The probable starters for the Hawks tonight are Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver in the backcourt, Josh Smith and Ivan Johnson at the two forward positions, and Al Horford at center.  Anthony Morrow (sore lower back) and Louis Williams (torn ACL, right knee) are listed as out.  I think the key to a win tonight for the Hawks is controlling the tempo.  The Knicks don't like to run on the fastbreak (they are 28th in the league in fastbreak points per game), so the Hawks need to try to force turnovers and push the pace.  Also, the Knicks have the oldest average age in the history of the NBA.  If the Hawks can keep running, they can tire out the Knicks easily.  They need to force the Knicks to play faster than they would like to.  It's going to mean a lot of substitutions for Coach Larry Drew to give guys breathers, but if the Hawks stick with it, it could also mean a W in this nationally-televised matchup.
