The Atlanta Hawks beat the Orlando Magic 86-80 on the road tonight. This was the third and final game of a three-game road trip for the Hawks. This was the first game of a back-to-back set for the Hawks. With the win tonight, the Hawks improved to 13-6 on the season, 2-0 in the regular season series with the Magic, and 2-1 on their road trip. The starters for the Hawks were Jeff Teague and Devin Harris in the backcourt, Anthony Morrow and Josh Smith at the two forward positions, and Al Horford at center. DeShawn Stevenson (knee) did not play, but Kyle Korver returned from a five-game absence due to back spasms and the birth of his first child. The Hawks were lead by Josh Smith and Jeff Teague, who score 16 points apiece. Smith also grabbed 11 boards, giving him a double-double on the night. Al Horford recorded his seventh-straight double-double, recording 13 points and 13 rebounds. Louis Williams contributed 11 points off the bench. Devin Harris scored 10 points. The leading scorer for the Magic was Arron Afflalo, with 16 points. In the first quarter, the Hawks got off to a 16-2 start, but the Magic ended the quarter on a 13-4 run to cut the Hawks' lead to 20-15 at the end of one. In the second quarter, the Magic went on a 10-2 run, but the Hawks closed the half on a 14-4 run to extend their lead to 46-34 at the half. In the third quarter, the Hawks and the Magic each scored 26, and the Hawks held a 72-60 lead heading into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, the Magic cut the Hawks' lead down to six twice, but the Hawks held on to win by that many. I think the key to the Hawks win was responding to the Magic's runs. Each time the Magic cut into the Hawks' lead, the Hawks kept their composure and answered back. It lead to a W. Great win for the Hawks against the division-rival Magic.
