The Atlanta Hawks beat the Dallas Mavericks 67-61 tonight at COX Pavilion at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.  This was the fourth of five NBA Summer League games for the Hawks.  This was also the first game of a back-to-back for the Hawks.  With the win tonight, the Hawks improved to 2-2 in the Summer League.  The starters for the Hawks tonight were Pape Sy and John Jenkins in the backcourt, Paul Carter and Mike Scott at the two forward positions, and Keith Benson at center.  The leading scorer for the Hawks was John Jenkins, with a game-high 21 points.  Mike Scott added 11 points and seven boards.  The leading scorer for the Mavericks was Jae Crowder, with 20 points.  In the first quarter, the Hawks took a 20-13 lead over the Mavericks.  In the second quarter, the Mavericks held the Hawks to just 12 points and cut the Hawks' lead to 32-31 at the half.  The Mavericks scored the first seven points of the second half, and took as much as a six point lead over the Hawks.  The Hawks stormed back, however, and retook the lead.  Heading into the final frame, the Hawks lead the Mavericks 55-44.  In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks went on a 10-3 run late to cut the Hawks' lead to just four with under 30 seconds to play.  The Hawks managed to hold off the rally and seal the six point victory.  I think the key to the win tonight for the Hawks was free-throw shooting.  The Hawks shot 74.1% at the charity stripe, compared to just 45.5% for the Mavericks.  The game was won by a close margin, and the free throws could have really made the difference.  Good win for the Hawks, fighting off multiple Mavericks rallies to get the W.
