The Atlanta Hawks will take on the San Antonio Spurs tonight at home at Philips Arena. This will be the second game of a back-to-back set for the Hawks. With a win tonight, the Hawks would improve to 23-17 on the season, 1-0 in the regular season series with the Spurs, and 1-1 in their back-to-back set. I think the key to a win tonight for the Hawks is to close out on the Spurs' shooters. The Spurs have the fifth-highest three-point field goal percentage in the NBA. They like to play inside-out, dishing it inside to Tim Duncan and Co., and then once the other team collapses inside, they dish it out to their sharpshooters. If Josh Smith (and Al Horford, if healthy) can play really great one-on-one defense on Duncan (and his backups), I think it will allow the guards to stay out on the Spurs' shooters. If the Hawks can keep the Spurs from making threes, I think they can get the W tonight at home.
