It was announced that Louis Williams will miss the remainder of the 2012-13 NBA season after an MRI revealed that he has a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). He suffered the injury in the second quarter of Friday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets, where he was helped to the locker room in a wheel chair. Unlike most players on the team, Williams does still have three years left on his contract, so we will still have him when he comes back in 2013-14. Williams is expected to have a period of rest prior to his surgery, and a timetable for his return is expected to be announced following surgery. The loss of Williams for this year will probably force either Jeff Teague or Devin Harris to come off the bench, since the Hawks no longer have a point guard on the bench. This is a big blow for the Hawks. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he can get back out on the court soon.
